Due to a sick horse who visited Shenfield Ranches for a Barrel Racing Jackpot, Shenfield Ranches was forced to quarantine for the month of July.  As a result, we were not able to organize and offer any Beginner Riding Summer Camps this summer.

Shenfield Ranches is excited to offer Beginner Summer Day Horse Camps in July 2010.   The Camps will follow the Alberta Equestrian Federation’s (AEF) new Western learn to ride program called P’Tit Trot.  The Summer Camps are designed for children 6 years old and up and is devoted solely for the introduction of new riders to the horse world including riding, how to care for a horse and having FUN!!

The Summer Camps are for beginner riders from ages 6-14 years.  They will run Monday to Friday from 9-4 pm. On Friday, riders will stay for pizza and put on a ‘show and share’ for parents and family from 7-8:30 p.m. 

These Summer Camps are perfect for the young person who loves horses but has no or little experience with horses.

Monday 8:00-9:00  Parent and Rider Orientation & Registration

Monday-Friday :

9:00-10:00  Feeding, Stall Cleaning & Turnout

10:00-12:00  Stable Management & Horse Care Lessons

12:00-1:00  Lunch

1:00-3:00 Horsemanship and Riding Lessons

3:00-4:00 Feeding & Clean-Up

4:00  Home

Friday  4:00-7:00  ‘Show and Share’ Preparation & Pizza

Friday  7:00-8:30  ‘Show and Share’ Demonstration for Parents & Family
