Shenfield Ranches

SHENFIELD RANCHES is located in beautiful Sturgeon County only 5 minutes east of Gibbons on Secondary Highway 643.  15 minutes north west from Fort Saskatchewan and 40 minutes northeast from Edmonton, it is within easy commuting distance for riding lessons, ropings, horse board, shows and summer camps.  Shenfield Ranches includes a 6 stall barn, 200' x 70' indoor riding arena, 300' x 175' outdoor riding arena, several ~ 64' x 80' outside pens, 3 horse pastures and riding trails through 80 acres of pasture and trees. 

STACY SHENFIELD

STACY SHENFIELD grew up on a ranch in the Bon Accord area and started riding at the age of three.  Before his teens he was training and showing horses with his dad.  Over the years he has learned from some of the finest horsemen in Canada and is a strong believer in combining the training methods of 'the old ways' and 'the new ways' when working with the horse.  Using these tried and tested training methods while adding his flare and uncanny ability to communicate at the same level as the horse, Stacy has produced willing and responsive reining, cutting and rope horses which have all excelled at their sport.  As a rodeo cowboy, avid team roper and Canadian Finals Team Roping finalist, Stacy continues to train horses and stock dogs in between his full-time commitments as Marina’s, Courtnal’s and Ilan’s dad and his day-profession as Director of Information Technology for an Edmonton-based company.

LEITA LAWRENCE

LEITA has been involved with horses for 30+ years.  She started in 4H showing her horses up to the Regional Level.  After getting her Equine Studies Diploma in 1989, she focused her riding on Hunter \ Jumper and basic Dressage before getting her Bachelor of Commerce in 1993.  Leaving her full-time position as a Project Management Consultant 4 years ago, she now stays home with their son Ilan and coaches 50 + horse-rider combinations including the members of the Namao Ridge Riders Pony Club.  In addition to recently accepting a position as a member on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Equestrian Federation, she celebrates numerous successes with her riders including;

• August 2008 - 2’9”, 3” and 3’3” Jumper Championships at Amberlea Harvest Classic Horse Show

• August 2008 - Alberta Regional Pony Club Show Jumping Championship

• July 2008 – 2’9”, 3’ and 3’3” Jumper Championship at Amberlea Summer Heat Horse Show

• August 2007 - Alberta Regional Pony Club Show Jumping Championship

• August 2007 - 3’3” Jumper Championship at Amberlea Harvest Classic Horse Show

• September 2004 – Alberta Regional Pony Club Silver Medal in Dressage and Gold and Silver in Show Jumping

• September 2003 – Alberta Regional Pony Club Medal for Entry Level Dressage, Silver Medal in Starter Show Jumping and Gold & Bronze Medals in Novice Show Jumping.
